Position Overview:
Mentor Teachers are integral within the operations of the Extended Learning. As a Mentor Teacher, you will work with the site Extended Learning Coordinator (ELC) to facilitate two academic hours, help provide learning strategies to Learning Coaches, help to review/develop lesson plans by Learning Coaches, support professional development and help to achieve grant funding goals. Proof of full vaccination must be presented by hire date.
This is a part-time position for the school-year and we are hiring for multiple school sites in Baltimore City.
Reports to: Extended Learning Coordinator (ELC)
Schedule:
Mon-Thurs for 3 hrs per day: 1 planning hr and 2 academic hours
Pay Rate:
$30.00 per hour for a maximum of 12 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct two (2) academic enrichment times (academic hour) for a group of 25 – 30 students during afterschool hours (ratio is 1:15 per hour)
- Facilitate and gather the data from the digital learning platforms of Zearn, Amplify and i-Ready
- Coordinate weekly planning sessions with Learning Coaches to develop lesson plans and academic activities that support learning objectives
- Collaborate with Learning Coaches to provide key strategies for classroom management and support during academic hour
- Responsible for monthly documentation of student progress
- Accountability for reinforcing academic student growth
- Encouraging a positive, success-oriented and engaging learning environment
- Exhibit professionalism
- Compliance with Elev8 Baltimore professional development and training requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
