ABOUT THE ROLE
Job Coach, Elev8 Pathways to Success
This is a Full Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt) role, reporting to the Success Coordinator.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Job Coach for Elev8 Pathways to Success, you will work in collaboration with the Elev8 Success Coordinator, Community School Coordinator(s), clinical team, and management to support students who are enrolled in the Elev8 Workforce Development program. You will work with them to build skills to improve their ability to obtain employment (PT/FT), internships, and enroll in post-secondary workforce development programming.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Lead ongoing workshops
- Conduct workplace site visits
- And Support the development of new employment partners.
The Elev8 Pathways to Success Workforce program supports high school-age youth (age 16-24) who attend Elev8 partner school programs (Youth Opportunity, Career Academy, Success Academy, Eager Street Academy, and South Baltimore Adult High School). This position requires the candidate to have the ability to travel to workplace locations weekly.
Responsibilities:
- Lead weekly workshops aligned with workforce development strategy (resume writing, interviewing skills, conflict resolution, effective communication, etc.), working in collaboration with team to identify workplace readiness curriculum
- Conduct weekly employment site visits for students enrolled in the program, collaborating with supervisor to support the development of student’s skills
- Addresses referrals from school personnel and providers including referrals via warm hand-offs
- Complete required documentation and paperwork in a timely manner
- Documents cases notes in Apricot 360, including but not limited to the Student Success Plan and WIOA documentation
- Support the promotion and enrollment of Youth Works, Grads to Careers, and other emerging post-secondary workplace opportunities for students
- Demonstrates cultural competency and commitment to students
- Demonstrates commitment to the philosophy of the agency
- Support the development and maintenance partnerships with employment partners
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
- Maintain all required documentation
- Review and provide support to maintain accurate and timely documentation in Elev8 systems
- Prepare reports for program partners and funding sources
- Responsible for attending mandatory departmental meetings
- Attend agency meetings and events
- Complete required training on time
- Maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures
- Prepare for and attend regularly scheduled meetings with supervisor
- Uphold organizational values related to race, equity, and liberation of people and communities of color
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
Required
- Minimum of two years of experience in youth development
- Experience serving older youth
- Excellent writing and presentation skills with experience communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Proficient in MS Office, data collection software, evaluation platforms and tools
- Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided aligned with organizational standards) as this position requires the candidate to travel to workplace locations weekly
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, human resources, or related field preferred.
- Baltimore City residency is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to working in service of youth, marginalized communities and communities experiencing the systematic effects of concentrated poverty.
Compensation:
$23/hour with full benefits including health insurance, paid vacation, retirement, mileage, sick leave, and support for professional development opportunities.
